Yes, it's walking iris, part of the Neomarica family. The flower will fade and it will put out a baby plant, which will drop down to the ground and root. They spread like that. Mine are just blooming this year.

It sure is. It is the white 'Walking Iris'. There is a yellow one to that will grow and bloom here in south Fla. as well.

The white one I think is more iris like. I have the much bigger flowered 'Regina' iris with blue blooms, that blooms here very in Fla.

And it is VERY BIG! Almost like the bearded iris like up north. You can get a good sized pot of them at Lowes/Home Depot and EBay. It likes wet soil and it puts out 'stolen like plants after the blooms die off the bloom stem. So it kind of 'walks' as well.

I wish I had the Regina iris. I think it's so pretty. I have some unidentified iris that MAY be the Regina, but it may also be the yellow. We'll see if it blooms this year.

The yellow also puts out those stolons on the bloom stems.

The 'Regina' is HUGE...the yellow & white ones are TINY. The plants themselves are small. The leaves are thin and 1-2 ft long at most. More like big grass. The 'Regina has BIG sword-like leaves, 3ft long easily.

So if you have a plant that is BIG,and has sword-like leaves it is a 'Regina'. If it is shorter and more delicate, it is white or yellow...as long as you know it is an iris. There is no mistaking the difference.

I HAVE 'Regina', a few small 'pups', but a big mass of full size blooming plants. If you want some let me know. Message me. IF you can pay for the shipping, I will be happy to send you a BIG section. Will take root and bloom NOW, this year. It can bloom most anytime of the year. Summer is the peak. If you cant get it locally.

Mine just bloomed too. I still don't know what the mystery plant is. I saw a "Regina" at WalMart today, and it's obviously not that. Yet another "what the heck is that?" plant.

Can you post a picture or two of this plant?? Maybe we can identify it

It's just leaves right now, and it's not "Regina." I'm thinking, from my knowledge of them, that it's probably a yellow one, but I'll find out if and when it blooms, I guess.
