Recessed fixture started eating mr16 bulbs like candy

Any suggestions on how to tell if there is a problem with the fixture, and what it might be? The fixture has been installed since 2012, and we just started having problems with it within the past year. Bulbs used to last for years. Now, it's days or weeks, on average.
