I had option b in my last house. It was great. Really opened up the room a lot more than a shower curtain. It was used by children and never had a problem with water getting all over. The only issue with it was a small leak at the hinged area but I think that was due to improper installation and it would just be a bead of water on the outside of the glass. Not really a big deal.

While option A is good when showering, I would go for option B if I were sitting in the bathtub. When bathing I would open the panel for more elbow room and not feel like I was caged in. Also much easier to bath children with the panel opened.

A: has a pivoting panel that pivots in and out

B: has a fixed panel and a pivoting panel

Both are custom order items and the fixed panel on B can be specified.

I had concerns because I have never had this type of shower screen. I have used shower curtains which will not be optimal in this application for a number of reasons, as well as sliding shower doors which I really hate because it is impossible to clean the rails, there is a rail installed on the tub making bathing kids difficult.

I am concerned that A may hit the tub spout, so for that B looks safer, but with a fixed panel, would it be difficult to clean that inside corner and would it look terrible after a while?

If someone has similar in their home, I would find this type of advice helpful.

I didn’t find it any more difficult to clean the fixed panel than any other glass dooor. Yes, it requires standing in the tub but wasn’t any big deal. As with any glass, shower users should be wiping it down after use. In our case, the child who was old enough to use a squeegee was expected to do so. The younger child took baths. We had it for a couple years and it still looked nice when we moved and I’m no meticulous housekeeper.
