Mine is Shaw Linenweave style, , sort of a subtle striated style , no issues with pulls. Have had other versions of Berber, never a problem with pulls & no footprint issues of course.

K Laurence, thank you and Kariyava, I wish my sales rep explained this! I do remember her saying something about multicolored but not that it had anything to do with footprints. This carpet is very soft but ugh with the way it looks!

Unfortunately this is the nature of the carpet texture selected, i'm sorry the sales person neglected to inform you of that. Some people, love it, some people hate it. You'd be amazed how many people WANT to see vacuum marks There will be opinions both ways but YOU are the one who is going to be living with and looking at this carpet for years. I would say change it to get something you really want. Any cut pile style will show footprints, but some more than others. From a business perspective we would actually want you to change it to get the product you love (therefore love us, and love the carpet, have a great experience, etc.) For $200, I'd say your happiness with the look of your carpet overtime is more important than "dealing with it".

But then, I was shocked and laughed as soon as I saw your area rug, it’s ok, but it’s busier looking and more distracting than the footprints! After looking at the area rug and then going back to look at the carpet footprints, I felt more calm looking at the footprints!

A berber is looped, but unless you have cats with front claws it really shouldn’t be a problem. imo, an area rug goes better over a Berber type carpet or a flatter lower type carpet in general than over a lush plush carpet as far as carpet goes.

I'd be happier with the flecked carpet, for not only the tracking but less likely to show dirt/stains. I like your area rug as well. I think it provides some nice colors to both coordinate with your existing furniture.

The reason I ask is because I am in the process of buying carpet for a family room and stairs. I was told that the most durable is nylon and nylon 6.6 . Some of these new nylons are softer now with yarns they call "Luxerell". A good test for marks and footprints is to just rub your hand across the sample and see if there is any movement in the carpet. The lower and denser the pile the less marks/footprints.

The 200$ charge is amazing, how do they do that and remain in business? Yes take the offer and do a lot of research on the new carpet.

Mary44. I believe nylon is slightly more durable but it was more expensive. The carpet warranty on ours was limetime stain and fade and 25 year from everything else so we thought it was good quality. The tracking was a bit unexpected once it was installed.

Doods , hopefully soon , I have new furniture coming next week . She had to double check pricing to make sure that the flecked carpeting was a “ like for like “ of what I paid for so she was going over pricing with the owner. Thanks for checking in!

novice0 ... trackless carpet my sister has it it’s wonderful soft plushy Color stays the same no matter which way you look at it shows no vacuum marks had it for almost 8 years still looks brand new and she has six grandchildren which are boys plus she has OCD. Update: The additional cost for Dreamweaver Epic II carpet (with the color flecks) is $226.00 plus the install of $220.00. So the total to redo $446.00. I will say that the Epic is still plush and does show tracking, just not to the extent as what you see in my original post picture.

I guess it depends on how much the tracking bothers you if its worth the extra $446.00. IMO I would change it. :)

It bothered me until you put the rug on. For the money I’m not sure I would change it. The flecks would hide dirt and tracking better, but I think the beige is more classic.

I would spend the money on replacing the carpet, not on an area rug. Layering a rug over carpeting looks nice but can be a tripping hazard. As well sometimes the area rug doesn't lay flat and that doesn't look good. Just be sure to work with the store to find a carpet that won't track foot prints.

The carpet would probably drive me crazy but not as crazy as a rug over carpet. They forever move and have to be straightened out. The second carpet seems a little better but I wouldn’t say by much

No I kept it. We had so many other issues going on at the time and decided not to . It is fine . It really is only bothersome after it is vacuumed

I would better recommend you to choose a rug made of natural materials. It won't look so shining and it will live for many years. You can take a look at the large rugs at the DorisLeslieBlau online catalog. Or you can visit that store if you are in New York City. I have two rugs from that store. One of them was bought by my other in the 80s. And it is still in perfect condition.

Absolutely. Duvet covers drive me crazy because they look sloppy. It doesn't take much.

It is a top of the line ultra plush and stains cleans off with water. So no it was not a low quality carpet

I had a carpet laid 2 days ago and the footprints are so bad but I got to tell myself it's just a carpet so what's the issue. It's cost too much money to replace. The first night of it being laid I couldn't sleep lol I was told by the salesman it would leave footprints but at the point I thought it woukd be OK. It has to be ok as I don't have a choice. I'm hoping in time it gets easier to look at😅

I absolutely HATE it!!! We did the same thing and with the light on it during the day I can literally tell who walked into the room by the marks from the bottom of the shoe. We are replacing it under the 30 day satisfaction guarantee. But the dilemma is what to replace it with that will look better!!!!!
