Typhoon White Granite

Finally found our granite! Fell in love with this lot and there were enough slabs for our large kitchen renovation. This will be on our counters and full backsplash. I can’t seem to find information about this type of granite. I looked up other known names and it’s just Typhoon White, Typhoon, or Typhoon Ice. Anyone else have this? Or heard of it?

It looks similar in color and properties to River White. Make sure you do all the testing on a sample piece that is recommended before becoming too attached to it. Lighter granites can also be very, very porous and stain easily (as my experience with Kashmir White was). Sometimes, they are really more of a marble than a granite.

It certainly is a beautiful slab, though!!!

Yes, I definitely need to invest in great sealers.

Im pretty sure sealers wont stop etching (if your slab turns out to be marble). As mentioned, you really need to test the slab rather than trust the label or salesperson. Good luck!
