New PNW Cabin - Flooring Thoughts?
I found this flooring pic on an old Houzz post. I.love.it. Can anyone help me identify what type of wood, finish, supplier etc? We are building a new cabin in the mountains of the PNW. I would like some sort of stone in the kitchen, mudroom, laundry and bathrooms and wood everywhere else. I like a rustic look, wider planks and non-shiny finish in a medium tone - not light, not dark. While I have read about its durability, I don't like luxury vinyl tile - it feels like walking on plastic (which you are, right?). I feel fairly set on solid wood, unless someone can educate/convince me otherwise. I don't need perfection and actually like some texture and roughness to the flooring. Certainly cost is a factor. Any general ideas on flooring are greatly appreciated. And, if you can help with above pic, that would rock. Thanks!

PRO7 years agoWe've used a flooring that is similar to this one in a few homes in Los Angeles CA area. The name of product is Sedona Oak 5/8" x 7 1/2" planks.
PRO7 years agoMona , those look like circle sawn Pine or Doug Fir floors. Both are soft compared to oak. Here is one of my favorite PNW projects. We supplied product for the floors, walls, and ceiling. Look for an American made product if you want long term durability.
