Loft Space Help

I’m continuing to clean out the clutter in our house and trying to think of what to do next with my loft. I’m planning to get rid of all the chairs in this room, but I can’t decide whether I should replace them with a small space sofa or matching accent chairs and a coffee table. I do have a 55” tv that was in this room at one point that I haven’t figured whether I should move back into it. We just hung new faux wood blinds and was thinking of framing in the window, but i couldn’t think of curtains to drape around. The light fixtures have to go as well. The colors in my room are SW Dorian Gray with SW Sea Salt for the accent.

I'd think about turning it into a cozy library/study. Fill the space on the wall you currently have your desk on with bookshelves and pull the desk away from the wall, perpendicular to the shelves. Get a couple of small guest chairs facing the desk, and maybe add a cozy armchair with an ottoman/reading lamp in the other corner. The current chair you have in there is too big/out of proportion for the space.

I'm confused -- this is essentially an extra room, or this is your main living space? in either case, how to furnish it depends on how you need to use it. Is this the main place you watch TV? hang out with friends? read? The suggestions above are all good, but they assume different answers to the fundamental What Room Is This question, without which we're all just hand-waving.

What do you want to use the room for? Pool table/game room, office, media room, library, hobby, guest lounge?

Formal living is downstairs, so this is more like a upstairs open great room. I recently started getting into crafting and working remotely that my husband built me an office desk wide enough to fit in the upstairs loft alcove. He also built that desk the printer sits on. I don’t really use it for anything other than that, but I would like it also to be a separate place to get away from and relax in.

Get rid of the two chairs, as you said. Move the printer to the right of the window where there is an outlet. Do you need a special table or center for your crafts or do they happen at the desk? If at the desk, then I would bring the TV back and set it on a credenza where you now have the printer. Then get a nice, comfy pair of swivel, rocker recliners and float them out in front to watch TV, read or relax. Don't let them get too big and bulky or puffy though. Keep a low profile with them.

Am I limited on colors for the swivel glider chair? I thought about a tan color but then wasn’t sure how that would be close to white furniture. Then again I don’t want white furniture either.

I was trying to pick up on the sea salt; just keep it lighter and pretty, not too masculine; this is mostly your room, right?

For now, but eventually over time I’d like to have kids and see it being something that could be like a family room. I found these cute bean bag/papasan chair style but the husband nixed it saying it was too college dormy.

Simple bean bags will work when kids come along. You can toss them in a closet when the adults want the space.
