The rake bit was actually the correct thing to do. Are you keeping the seed moist? Are temperatures warm enough for seed sprout at this point?

Kentucky Bluegrass can take up to 14 days to even start sprouting, so some patience is required there--and that's under good conditions and decent temperatures of 70 degrees or so!

try seeding it again and cover it with some peat moss . Heres a video of a guy I am subscribed too on youtube seeding bare spots in his lawn doing the same technique

You could also try a hand core aerator tool. i think they are like $20-30. Then throw seed in the holes which will act like planters for the seeds

Thanks for the video; where does he live? It looks like he cuts his rye/kbg lawn pretty short no?

He lives in Iowa. He has alot of subscribers so swardman(A reel mower company) sent him a $3000 reel for free and he uses it on his front lawn. Cuts his back yard at regular 3-4 inch height with his toro timemaster. Hes is loving the reel. The front lawn does looks awesome. I never knew a cool season grass could be cut low like that. I knew warm season grass like bermuda could.

You can if you want to throw water at it, or live in a high-rainfall environment. Or have a sandy soil with lots and lots of organics to hold water. Or simply allow it to go dormant in summer.
