Direct vent gas fireplace at floor level

I have to tear our our masonry fireplace as part of a renovation, and the architect showed the replacement as a Heat and Glo 6000 series direct vent fireplace. However, nothing has been framed, so we still have time to pick another brand or model of fireplace.

All the direct vent gas fireplaces I've found have about a 4" wide piece of trim across the bottom front, so the view of the logs does not go all the way to the floor. Many of the stock photos show them with a raised hearth, or even mounted in the wall with no hearth. It is very obvious that they are not a traditional masonry fireplace design.

Are there any direct vent models with a near zero bottom trim, so that they sit at floor level and look more like a real masonry fireplace? My home is a Dutch Colonial, so a traditional looking fireplace would fit the decor better.

Thanks,

Bruce
