Anyone out there with a JULIEN SINK??

I really need some advice on the built-in sponge drawer. It looks dope. But does anyone actually have it?? Do the sponges get smelly or icky? Help! I want it so bad but don't want to pull the trigger without some first-hand validation. Thanks a mil.

Without a picture I am now sure this is the same thing but our 1970s ranch had a false panel in front of the sink, to make then look like there were drawers there. I had DH pop them out, put hinges on them, put trays on them and now we have two flip doors that hold sponges, scrubbies etc. No the sponges don't stink. They dry out same as if they were in the drainer.

Looking at their website the sponge drawer has a built in drain. I assume it would work well.

I have 2 Julien sinks, but did not order the sponge holder. It just seemed like one more area that would get dirty and would need cleaning.

I used the Elkay sinkmate to organize stuff in my 2 sinks. Very happy with this product.

I bought an expensive Julien sink for my recent kitchen remodel and it has been a nightmare experience! The first sink delivered had seam defects an involved a long wait for an exchange, (sent from Canada). Shortly after installation and after only light use, the stainless finish became permanently marred by their "protective" grid feet. I found their warranty to be useless (and blatantly misleading) and their customer service to be HORRIBLE. Julien were largely non-responsive and, after MANY emails, offensively sent me some free useless Presentation Board as compensation for the problem (despite my refusal of it). Replacement grid feet they sent did not fit the grid at all. Unfortunately, because the sink is undermount, if would be very expensive to remove. We did not feel Julien honored their stated warranty. As we use the sink, I'm not finding Julien 's stainless finish to hold up as much as the Franke or Elkay sinks I've used in past. Despite using their recommended cleaning products and instructions, the finish is dull. I will never again purchase a Julien sink!
