Where are you located? Many herbs lose scent and flavour in cold, winters conditions.

Oklahoma and these are brand new plants, no winter on them

Oh, right. When you said they'd 'lost' their scent and flavour I thought you meant you'd had them a while and they were previously aromatic. The Mediterranean herbs smell better and taste better in lean fast draining soil with little or no fertiliser. I'm not familiar with miracle gro soil but I suspect it's too rich for herbs. You say they're prolific. Perhaps they're growing too lush at the expense of taste. Overwatering can also reduce scent and taste.

okay well maybe the scent and taste will return when the rainy season is over.

As floral said.... watch out for that fertilizer. It’s almost a no-no for herbs.
