Persimmon leaves droopy, yellowing, and falling off

I recently installed my second persimmon tree after the first one didn’t make it. I was really hopeful because everything looked great initially. But now the leaves are droopy, yellowing and falling off. Also, the bloom tips are falling off as well. The soil in my yard is clay heavy and I don’t have much any shades in the yard. Is this normal or what can I do to help my plant be healthy again?

Hello, The same thing happened to my Fuyu persimmon. I planted it last month. Amended the clay soil with mulch . and watered it.

A couple of weeks later, I dug it out to check, if it was waterlogged. Nope!!! So I replanted it , adding, lime, and 10 10 10 fertilizer. Still no improvement. It is drooping its leaves. :-( .

I do have 2 fuyu persimmon trees from the same seller. They are doing well and look healthy. I also have a root stock american persimmon ( the kaki fuyu large fruit just browned and died) growing nearby. I have left it for trying out grafting.

All my persimmons, are in full sun.

So I am looking the forum for advice if there is something that can be done.

I am assuming it is unhappy in the heat and full sun. Hoping it will gets used to the heat and sun, and will look better in fall. Will keep monitoring it.

I bought two Fuyu Permissions and thy don't seem happy after the transplant
