New construction…consider a pocket door for the main entry. There is plenty of wall space to accommodate one.

I would love a pocket but cannot. The chimney runs in that wall and there wouldn't be enough room to accomodate it.

i'll ask the hubby about the open shelving idea. It's for the kids' bath so theyre not very organized :/

Thousands of bathrooms have this same set up. The linen closet door should swing toward the bathroom entry door for easy access while you are in the bathroom. The one with the green #1.

You and Rawketgrl are right. But, lshea has an idea you can build on. What about built-ins? Drawers below, perhaps an open space, and cabinet above? It's very easy to organize and keep organized. If you're going to have two sinks, the extra drawer storage will come in handy.

And speaking of two sinks, have you considered having one sink, and more counter and drawer space? My two boys shared a bath with two sinks, and they were almost never brushing their teeth at the same time. They both used the sink furthest from the door, and the sink closest to the door is perennially dusty. But, they could have used more counterspace and drawer space, a bank on either side of the sink for each, for their orthodontia, hair, shaving, etc, stuff (and makeup for the theater kid). We have a linen closet in there, too, but with all shelves it takes creativity (and bins and plastic drawer stacks) to organize it and discipline and intervention to keep it tidy. Ugh.
