8 x 10 is the correct size for the rug with a queen sized bed.

Assuming you will be getting at least one nightstand, the best position for the rug would be 1/4 of the way down from the head of the bed.

Those cherry floors are absolutely gorgeous!!

And the green walls are very restful.

Are you totally set on that bed linen set, or is that negotiable?

Are you able to cover the tan satin section of the headboard?

Also, can you please clarify, because monitors differ, is that set black grey and white, or brown grey and white?

What type of nightstand and bedroom furniture will you be getting?

What type of overall look do you want to achieve in the room?

Do you want a modern geometric rug?

A traditional handmade rug?

There are so many ways to go here.

Give us some more information and we can give you some options that suit the look you want to achieve.

Bit of metallic, and is this color of headboard? idk the quality, but might be ok if less full look with pillows... [cause bedding has pattern as does floor / rug]. Natural ?

The bed linen set can change probably based on the season, the colors are black, grey and soft white. The headboard remains. I have purchased a night stand in cherry that matches the chest of drawer and flooring. The rug pattern and color is where I need help. I plan to add some color pops in the photos and artwork that I purchase for the now empty walls. I'm trying to have a peaceful atmosphere in the room that is inviting and relaxing without being dull.

I don't want the rug to overpower the room. Thanks for any suggestion and help you can give.

There's no connection to the bedding so perhaps art will help.. Also, despite already purchased, a room need not be, should not be overloaded with brown furniture. It sucks the air out : ) How about a lighter looking side table/not cherry? Stone and metal for instance.. All the furniture need NOT match the flooring.

Nobody can determine a connection to where you're going with this. The art is not yet on the walls, you have charcoal and white bedding, deep green walls, making the rug issue more difficult unless just a simple neutral and very plain. Translated, that means more PEACEFUL when some color connection is in the room , connecting visually ......to something. Try a pale gray, plain and simple. to now, your color scheme is a bit of a reach.

Or consider lighter looks in bedding...........even the deepest colored rooms benefit from some contrast

tip: only the furniture advertising puts a lot of brown furniture in the room......an ad bellow
