The trend right now over islands is pendant lighting. If you don't want to deal with installing additional fixture boxes for multiple pendants, you can install a linear style pendant or chandelier which would still work off one fixture. Start looking here:

Take a look through those and see if you can determine what style you may be interested in and maybe that can help steer more recommendations. Your taste will largely inform what people recommend. Given the kitchen style, I would look at those labeled as traditional or transitional to help narrow it down.
