Don't love the layout. First, the raised bar is a dated idea. It means there is less usable counter space. It's also more uncomfortable to sit at that height. Do a flat peninsula. I would probably straighten out the island as well. The angled shape is again dated plus it makes for an awkward DW location.

The fridge location is also tricky. It is near the outside of the kitchne which is usually good, but in this case its going to block all traffic into the kitchen which isn't good. Then there's the second fridge tucked away in the pantry. Make sure you check clearances for it. Generally it's not good to have a fridge in a small enclosed space like that, especially with food around.

The corner, back pantry is also not usually a good plan. It cuts the flow of the kitchen in half. Walk in pantries also do not provide as much extra storage as people are led to believe. Hard to make more recommendations without seeing the whole home.

So? Think through what you want /how you want the space to function. If you like the idea of the raised bar, go for it. It's practical to hide kitchen clutter from the adjacent rooms ... but, yes, do consider the height of the chairs you'll need.

That's true. Consider that you'll be standing at the sink while you put dishes into the dishwasher ... and the open dishwasher will take up part of your space.

While we're talking about appliances, note that the range is poorly placed. You'll remove food from the refrigerator /wash and prep near the sink ... then dribble across the middle of the floor as you move that food to the range.

True, when the fridge door is open, access to the kitchen is closed; however, this is a one-butt kitchen anyway.

Are you proposing an enclosure for a refrigerator that's tucked away in a pantry? Skip that. It will limit the size refrigerator you can place in this space ... and for no reason.

I'd also suggest straightening the corner shelves near the fridge. The corner bit will cost more, and you're only getting about 6" of extra shelf.

Walk in pantries are THE BEST. So much storage, and they make a small kitchen functional. I'd add a pegboard to the wall that "backs up to" the microwave ... perfect for hanging your cast iron frying pans and your used-only-occasionally tools (like a nutmeg grinder or oversized BBQ spatula).

However, I agree that walking the length of the kitchen to reach the pantry is bad design. A person entering the pantry will disturb the cook. Is a pass-through between the garage and the pantry a possibility?
