After I finished thd Lovers Knot quilt, I had to do some serious cleanup. And then I made a few more string blocks while waiting for inspiration to strike for the next project. Hope it strikes soon!

I'm in a clean up mode myself. I've only been quilting for about 4 years and I'm not very prolific at it either. However, I'm really good at buying fabric, primarily at estate sales. Only my I spy fabric and charms was organized. I had no idea what I had or how much I had of each. So, I've started cleaning up the chaos. I've donated some, shared my I spy charms with others and folded and sorted most of the rest. Now, I down to how to store it and doing something with scraps. I'll be working on that this weekend.

I am in the orchestra for a show that is being done at my former church, so I’ve had rehearsals the past two Sundays. Tomorrow I am playing handbells in three services, then have another orchestra rehearsal and then my clarinet choir rehearsal. With part of my weekends taken up with rehearsals I haven’t been able to get motivated to sew. I have so many projects on my list that I can’t decide what I feel like doing, and that puts me in a funk.

The neighbor behind us is pressure washing his pool deck and the noise is driving me crazy, which isn’t helping my mood, either.

Okay, whining over. LOL

Sounds as though everyone has lots of busy plans! I finished my deep cleaning, including my sewing space, earlier this week. It sparked some creativity. While hosting a friend, who is attending an event near us, I stitched up some colorful mug rugs to send home for his family. I used a few of the bits to create a thank-you card, too. It feels so great to be able to find everything in my sewing area! Clean up was easy; and now that I'm organized again, I think I might finally be able to get those BOMs completed! Company leaves late this afternoon, so probably after church tomorrow will be my first chance at the blocks. Happy Sewing, y'all!

Well, I'm trying to get to quilting. I'm in the process of tidying up the many bits of paper that have accumulated on my desk/sewing table. I promised myself I wouldn't sew until I got all these papers filed away in their proper places. I just joined Assistance League, so I have all the paperwork and info for that. We have a purchase agreement on our Maui condo, so that's another file. I'm having some tree work done - file. New carpeting and wallpaper repair - file. How can such a small household accumulate so much paper? I know I keep way too much, but I always have exactly what I need when I need it.

I'd like to finish quilting and bind my little kimono wallhanging and send it to my friend. She's traveling for a few weeks, so I've got time. I have a baby quilt sandwiched and ready for quilting. I have to prepare the backing and sandwich and quilt my Strip Twist quilt that I promised to another friend of mine who absolutely adored the top when I showed it to her. When I told her she could have it when it was finished, she actually teared up. Such gratification for a quilter. It's a rainy weekend here, so I should get some of this done.

I did get motivated enough to cut a bunch of squares to make the borders for my postage stamp quilt, and I just started knitting a baby blanket.

Y'all are busy busy busy bees! Linda, I love making 3" blocks, they are so tiny and cute! Sue, Wonderful family picture and 5 generations is certainly something to be proud of! Theresa, Jackie gave me squares and a few blocks of Lover's Knot and I worked on those while at Beverly's. Had never made one before. I'll have to check your photo. Bkay, Jackie also like to go to estate sales and get fabric. Then she brings it to retreat and gives it away. lol Donna, There 'is' a burn-out point...it took me a year or so to recover and I was in my 30's. Glad you got motivated for the squares. :-) Larri, Cute and cheery mug rugs!!! I'm working on finding places to put the fabric I was blessed with at retreat and at Beverly's so it will be easily available. Lois, You are so efficient!!

What am I doing? LOL......Using the Timeless Treasure bunnies, bees, stars charm winnings/donations from retreat to make Pat Sloan's Oh My Stars and using bright yellow from my stash for the stars. :-)

You can get some great deals or some great duds at estate sales. I just bought about 30 yards of color coordinated "quilting fabric" at an estate sale auction for about $10.00. I saw it briefly as they were shutting down the preview a little bit early, It's mostly one yard cuts, but also a few 2 yard cuts. It's still in the shipping box, apparently never opened. It all coordinates. It would be perfect for kids quilts, but it turned out to be poly. or poly/cotton. Project Linus doesn't want it. The Project Linus lady referred me to another group, but I would have to deliver it in one of the suburbs. I called a church close to me that does charity quilting, but have not heard back.

I know poly wears well. If no one claims it, I might make some rail fences with it. That would be easy and I could donate it to Project Linus and they can get it quilted. I really don't like working with poly, as I always get it too hot and it shrinks.

I had about 30 minutes yesterday afternoon, and decided to play with some leftover HSTs. I made a table runner, not quilted though. I did a self-binding mitered-corners runner, and top-stitched it all in place. It's a bright and fresh summer addition to sit atop my fabric cupboard.

The jar was from my daughter this Mother's day. Had to laugh when I opened today's "100 Reasons Why I Love You." She knows me well. :) Happy Quilting, y'all!

Great pictures/ projects/stories from all! I especially like the "jar of reasons". Such a sweet gift! I didn't actually get into my sewing room this past weekend at all. Did yard work and cleaning. It's back to rain here again. I think most of the midwest is tired of rain! I'm hoping this holiday weekend will bring some sunshine!
