Strawberry Guava?

I also thought it was strawberry guava from the fruit shape. but the flower shape are not the same with strawberry guava.

Looks like Psidium littorale, or strawberry guava to me.

Wrong growth habit, leaf shape, flower structure for either of those. And for at least the last suggestion - if not both of them - the fruits aren't actually the same exact shape.

maybe I will stick to strawberry guava. it's the closest. I found some videoes of someone showing the plants (he/she also wondering the plant's actual name.) maybe helpful for identificating this little red fruit.

Jamaican Cherry?,Muntingia?

@stanofh: I don't think it's jamaican cherry because jamaican cherry has a cherry like flowers. this one has somehow strange upside down baby octopus wearing a starfish hat like flowers.

im pretty certain its not Muntingia (jamaican cherry) or strawberry guava ive grown several of both and know the flowers well.

almost positive its not a Psidium at all. or even close relative. -

might be Chilean Guava, but im no expert on those.

The fruit reminds me of serviceberry/juneberry... are the leaves serrated at the tip half of the leaf, but un-serrated at the leaf stem half of the leaf?

Chilean guava is quite different also.

Some questions to aid clarity.

Is this definitely being sold as an edible fruit bush? That has been the assumption so far but do we know for certain?

We also don't know where in the world the plant was seen.

And finally OP says these are not their photos. If so where do they come from and do they definitely show the same plant that the OP saw?
