I think it would look ok.

It would be fine to have one higher. Many people get the "pre-rinse" faucets in front of the window, and they are 30+" high. If my faucet was in front of a window, that's what I would do. It's a chance to add jewelry to your kitchen. Though it would need a bigger sink to balance it.

What about your sink? You are replacing the counter and faucet, but not replacing that D-shape sink? It looks like you can fit a bigger sink in your base cabinet, and also get a more current rectangular shape.

I didn't know there was a windowsill rule! My faucet would need to be 3 inches high!

My faucet is 24" high, but I have a corner sink so much more clearance than what you have available. Your clearance will be pretty tight right where you windowsill sticks out.

I suggest you go to a large plumbing supply store with a showroom and take a look and touch a wide variety of faucets.

Have you priced Rohl faucets lately? I have a Perrin & Rowe (part of Rohl) that I paid about $650 for 16 years ago. That same faucet today is about $1400 and they no longer make it with satin nickel with polished brass trim (highest price level when I bought it). I have replace a few washers over the years - Perrin & Rowe sent me a bag of assorted sizes. Other than that, it works perfectly and I still love it!

Remember, the higher the faucet, the more splashing.
