Could be one of the yellow leaved Caryopteris.

It is a Golden Sunshine willow, I think. Some other options are Golden Spirit smoke bush, golden elderberry(there are a few), Tiger Eyes sumac, and various golden japanese maples.

It's hard to get a good sense of scale, but Spiraea 'Ogon' can get bigger than you think - 5'x5' is not out of line.

The willow and the caryopteris are possibilities but the texture and habit is wrong for the smokebush, elder, the sumac or a Japanese maple.

The leaves appear quite long and narrow, not ovate, palmate or pinnate, so I don't think it's elder, sumac, Cotinus or maple.

I know it's not a smoke bush. I was giving suggestions for similar shrubs.

Golden Spirit is a trade name used to sell the cultivar 'Ancot'. So only 'Ancot' is presented in single quotes. And it's not a matter of correct usage being either one name or the other - both are used for the same introduction, in the same phrase. As in Golden Spirit ('Ancot').

Anyway plant asked about looks just like the spirea to me - that is what a body would buy to produce the same appearance.

What about Berberis thunbergii 'Aurea'? It can get quite large and the upright spiky branching is similar.

Re Spirea 'Ogon'--mine are easily 6 ft tall and 8 ft wide.

Second vote for Spirea ‘Ogon’.

My spireas get this tall, If I let them, not sure about this plant BUT one that easily can be that tall and yellow is a golden privet.

Ckerr- Love that full moon maple! They are stunning all year but even more so in the fall.

What's with the allium in OP's pic, are they really that big?

Yes teuth. I used to grow Allium christophii and the heads were huge, 10-12".
