Rug is way too small for this area. Lower the wall art to about 6" above the back of the sofa.

Get curtains that go to the floor.

The room looks totally orange. Try some cooler light bulbs.

Definitely much larger rug and different window treatment will make a huge difference

You also need a coffee table and it looks like a piece of artwork on the wall across from the window. Sleeker end tables would be nice too.

Not sure what kind of help you looking for, or budget, but to me the chairs are too tall for your sofa. Maybe just the angle from which the photo was taken? Longer sofa with higher back or new chairs with lower back. Slimmer end tables, longer curtains, larger rugs and a coffee table.
