sad looking grape transplant

My first mistake was in buying a grape from a big box store. . . bad choice, but I couldn't resist, I did it anyway. It got a little burnt when transplanting it, but so far it is hanging in there. It has been in the ground almost a month now and looks worse than it did. I have only lightly fertilized it once, last week, since the initial transplant. It is in sandy/clay soil amended and top dressed with compost. It gets 7-8 hours of sun. Variety is either Suffolk or Himrod (I lost the tag!) Is this poor fellow going to be all right, do you think, or have I murdered it?
