Please help with kitchen lighting.

I have three ceiling lights in my kitchen. (Pic is attached) The one over the sink has been replaced with one I love, from Pottery Barn, in first pic. So, that's staying. But, there is a center ceiling light that needs to be updated, but cannot decide to get one that "goes with" this one, or rather, a plain white drum fixture that will pretty much blend in. (The 3rd light in the kitchen is a spot that is like a track, but just one fixture. I'm thinking just a gimball spot light to replace that, again so it will be unobtrusive.) - Also added a couple more choices.

Ideas? Suggestions? Would love to hear!!

Until you get good lighting I'm not sure you're going to realize what you've been missing... having your shadow cast on to the counter while you're trying to work by always being lit from behind is terrible. I'm all for the track lighting or suggest you spring for recessed lights! Fix the utility then concentrate on style as decoenthusiaste says!

The "star" is your sink light. It doesn't appear it would give good task lighting and neither do the others. Kitchens need to be well lighted (function) before decorated (form.) How about simply replacing the others with multi-light tracks and adjusting them to highlight your cabinet fronts and darker corners like that one right of the sink? Then add LEDs under the uppers to light the work counters.

I suppose the lights should've been turned on when I took a pic of the kitchen. I do have under cabinet lighting and it gets quite bright in there, especially if all the lights are on. The one above the sink gives great task lighting - plus the added bling! I just don't know if the center light should be plain, or also have the bling!

Well, the LEDs are taken care of; now to highlight the door fronts. I think the semi-flush ones you're looking at are more suitable for a foyer than a kitchen. I'm always conscious of the cleaning involved with kitchen lights. Grease always makes its way onto them and all those little facets would be a pain to keep clean.

Thank you for your time and thoughts. With the under cabinet lighting, there is great task light on the counters, no shadows cast and they light up the corner of the counter too. The pendant over the sink also provides great light there. We don't feel the need to put money into recessed lighting - I was just wanting to update the lighting that came with the house. (And, aren't track lights outdated?) So, I just want the kitchen to look cohesive. We feel there is plenty of light, task and general.

Are your walls really painted gold? That doesn't do anything for your cabinets. Changing the paint will help with the lighting.

The faceted crystal is so overly fancy for a kitchen IMO.

Thank you for your input, and for the photoshopped pic! The room is actually a caramel color, which will be changed to a greige soon. I'm not understanding though, you said the faceted crystal was overly fancy for a kitchen, yet the choices you sent were just that. Is that because you wanted to find a match for the sink pendant for me? Would my choice of one that blends in be better, like the white drum shade light above?
