Mammillaria mystax i think.

I think the spines are abit fine and short for mystax, or is that a varition?

I just read up on mystax in the Mammillaria Handbook, and they were very spiny a few years ago, much more like my pringleii. I hold my other comments on short fine spines.

Nope, i did not look up those 2.

I agree that it is probably M. mystax. Llifl mentions that in cultivation the spines are often much shorter than in habitat.

My mystax doesn’t look like like the cactus in question. Along with the others I see in stores.

When I see and think of mystax they’re messier looking, not so clean. If that makes sense. But like I said in another post, imo Mammillaria are really difficult to id. My mystax can look like this, but someone else’s can look totally different, even tho the same cactus.
