My family is looking to renovate our house after living here for almost 10 years. Have been putting together the scope of work we want done but the biggest thing on our agenda is having a garage addition on our house. Majority of the houses on my street have added an addition separate from the property. I am wondering if it’s possible to add a garage as an extension to the existing house? Do City of Toronto laws even allow for this type of work to be done to a semi-detached house? The existing driveway certainly carries enough room for this extension to be done. We have a deck built in the back along with an entirely landscaped backyard that we don’t wish to remove any sf from.
