Just did a kitchen similar to yours. We painted the kitchen cabinets a mid tone gray. The walls Wool Skein from Sherwin Williams and the island and living room accent wall Sealskin, also from Sherwin Williams. Sealskin is dark, but so exciting against the lighter Wool Skein and sets the tone of the room to be NOW. Bar stools should be limited to 2. Bakers rack should be changed out to pendant/chandelier. Blinds should be 2" white wood or faux wood for a clean line. Living room should have grommet top drapes to go floor to ceiling for height to balance with fireplace wall. Furniture should include either gray couch with white ( with color) pillows or gray accent chairs. Accent rug should be light with subtle pattern. Accent with your favorite color, lime green..red..yellow..terra cotta.
