I would want all that wood to be the same colorand BTW I don’t like crown on abgled walls .

I am feeling from the comments here that it is best to paint crown molding. Another question then, is, if I paint the crown molding with the same wall color, should it be a semi gloss or use the satin paint that will be on wall? Thank you for all of your comments.

I'd remove the crown, or paint it to match the wall color. One usually uses semigloss on wood.

Another question, our contractor has suggested if want to paint crown molding to not use a semi gloss but same wall paint. That way, the crown moldings will disappear. Would this be wise? Thank you!
