Which is hibiscus and which is a weed?

So I have a hardy hibiscus plant that grew last year in this spot, and then come fall I trimmed it down to the stubs. It now looks like it growing back up again but there is another plant also growing and I’m not sure which one is the weed and which one is the flower. I also have narcissus in this flower bed which I was told coexisted nicely

I believe the hibiscus is on the left and the weed on the right but I don’t want to remove anything until I know for sure. The plant on the left also smells a little minty.

In the top picture the lighter foliage on the left is what I considered to be the Hibiscus. OP states there is a hardy Hibiscus in that position. In the second photo, taken from the other side the Hibiscus is on the left. I thought the dark plant was mint or a mint relation before I read the bit about the minty smell. But clearer pictures would certainly help a lot.

Rather fuzzy pictures but the hibiscus is on the left. There is a minty smell because the 'weed' on the right is mint ;-)

The dark green plant is definitely not hibiscus. Lighter plant is so blurry it's hard to tell. Did you plant a hibiscus? Can you get a clearer picture?

1st pic Hibiscus is on the left

2nd pic Hibiscus is on the right.

Thanks everybody!

I can try and post a better picture when i get home, but there was hibiscus there last year so it should be there now.

What would be the best way to remove the mint? Should i just pull it out or would some sort of spray be better? Does it need to be removed or is it good at coexisting with hibiscus like narcissus is? (I'm guessing not because growing at the same time)

Pull and dig. Don't spray you'll kill the Hibiscus.
