Love it! I used to take native plants for granted, but I now have a much deeper appreciation for them. It has taken too long to get here, but I'm glad I did.

We just sold the last of the land I/we owned for the past 30+ years. I took a walk on it for probably the last time last week, which was an odd feeling. A lot of blood, sweat, and tears went into the place.

Here's Gaylussacia baccata growing on a west facing ridge that runs north-south through the property (Tower Ridge).

Not sure if I ever noticed ' Gaylussacia baccata ' in my neck of the woods. At least we always picked blueberries and never saw anything else to pick, that I know of. :-)

'Stages of life' I guess. I'll be turning over my 'extra land' over to my son within a year.

Stages of life indeed. When it comes to trees, does the cone fall far from the hemlock?

Thanks, nice scenes.
