Absolutely keep them. They are very nice.

Decide if they're staying or going before you replace any floor coverings.

Have another use for them? Garage, basement, inside a closet?

I'd probably keep them in the kids' rooms, craft room, etc. (Do you have ample closet space in the house?)

But I do find them a bit too much. Bothers me that they take up entire walls in the rooms... And they are in the way of opening/ closing windows if you're someone who likes to open up the windows, weather permitting.

Aren’t you lucky to have so much storage! With the right color on the walls and the correct furniture, you are well on your way to a period perfect house. I do wish people would stop fixating on “resale”. It’s YOUR house. Live in it, love it, and make your lasting memories in it. I have never decorated my previous five houses based on resale. I want my house to suit my family.

Great comments. I hadn’t thought about deciding before we update the flooring! To answer the question about storage -yes this house has closets in bedrooms and abundant storage in the basement. The function of the house is really what appealed to me. Unfortunately I find the built-ins dated and am not a fan of this period, however not having to see my kids “stuff” all over is appealing too!
