We chose to paint the trim to match the rest of the house not the cabinets in our last kitchen reno. It was totally fine, never bothered me and I am a matchy/matchy person.

Center cabinet is white cloud and cabinet on the left is the trim color. Granite is “tropical brown” a brown and black speckled color. Base cabinets are going to be SW caviar. Tile will most likely be a creamy white, but I can change that. Pulls will be honey bronze.

I’m mad at myself for waiting until the last minute to change my mind. But oh well.

This is how it came out. I’m still not sure I did the right thing. The tile in the corner is the color of the tile I’m getting, but it will be a long running bond tile.

As you can see from the door the paint yellows and since the door and the trim weren’t painted at the same time they’ve become different color. Think I’m going to try painting that again.

I think I’m going to break down and paint the rest of the trim in the house. The trim on the cabinets is a better color and the trim needs painting in a few places anyway. Ouch $$$$
