I would like to see the opposite wall. Do you plan to put the 60” in the dining room or on the opposite wall from the windows?

I would be tempted to close up the area with the pillars if they are too expensive to remove. That area, including closing one wall of the stairs, could be another area you could use for the TV - or could be used for a bar, serving, or even storage. Because there are two it makes them seem forced.

Hmm, can see there are pics of other wall... sorry. Still wonder if you could at least get rid of one set of pillars, even by enclosing in a larger wall to create some interesting niche for a purpose like a serving area.

Since we didnt get a proper survey with the property we drew our own floorplan.

We had five columns taken down, two were load bearing, three were not. It was an easy process, got the engineer in and once we knew what we were dealing with we got a couple quotes for the work. The actual work took 2 days.

Aside from appearing to be structural, the posts are like good punctuation in a sentence or paragraph. Use them to your advantage.

If they are structural and you need to leave the columns, look at it as an opportunity to add some interest to the architecture of the room.
