I have always read that certain pawpaw varieties required pollen from another variety to bear fruit. I have a Shenandoah pawpaw tree that bloomed this year, but there were no other blooming pawpaws nearby. The tree now has 4 fruit. It could only have been pollinated by itself. Had I known this was possible, I would have hand pollinated the blooms. Has anyone else experienced this?
