The plan for our home is to add a large deck extending from the doors off the porch on the left side to the other side of the house past the sliding doors. But I would also love to have a small deck off the master (upper level windows on the right.) Just a spot for a couple chairs- nothing big. I'm wondering what kind of support a small deck like that needs. If it involves posts going into the deck below it's not really an option. Also if it would be awkward for the deck below to have something suspended over it? Does anybody have any advice or experience with this?
