So among other things we are having our kitchen remodeled. All our appliances have been replaced in the past 2-3 years. How should these be protected while remodeling is going on? They want to leave the fridge where it is and work around it. But I’m concerned it will get rather filthy and this is our newest addition, only 8 months old. The top of my oven already has a layer of soot from other work they were doing in the next room. Not happy about that. Should they be covering these things?

Part of a wall was taken down in our living room and they put plastic sheets to protect the rest of the living room. But the part where they are working in still has that section of our carpet exposed and being covered in filth. I’m worried about possible stains as they go. Is this the norm?
