We are hanging like curtain rods in a room with 9’ ceilings that have decorative cased doors and windows. We would like to hang the rods so they look good in the room. Should they be hung from the same distance above the door/window frame (which would be different heights) OR should they be hung from the same distance from the ceiling so they are on the same plane around the room?

Also, is there a ‘rule of thumb’ on how many inches above the frame or down from the ceiling and outside the door/window frames you should place your treatment rods asthetically?
