What about real wood in the bedroom and non wood-look tile in the bathroom?

do not put real and fake next to each other. if real wood, then use an actual tile in the bathroom., like jmm mentioned above.

I was just at the tile store today and saw some beautiful wood-look tiles. The key is not to get the cheap stuff from the big box stores. But spending that much on tiles could be the same as a good engineered hardwood.

If you're that concerned about it being cold, and can't do the heat flooring, you could use a large area rug over the tile in the bedroom. Or, is insulation in the crawl space an option?

or, go with a nice french oak, wide plank engineered flooring. I'm using this one for my floors.
