Chandelier ((RH)

Anyone has experience with RH chandeliers? There’s one that I saw in the store which is fabulous and just the right size for my bedroom. In fact it was displayed with exact same size of ceiling So I m soo inclined to buy it. However I don’t know where they source their crystals and how The quality is . Surprisingly the reviews online were very negative for RH products.

I went to a local lighting shop and they showed me catalogues from crystorama where I liked Maria Theresa but they didn’t have it on display so I don’t know how it will look in real .

Now i m undecided whether to go with what I REALLY like in person at RH 33 inches diameter which will cost me about $1920 plus tax or go with the light shop with a 29 inch for $765 plus tax and they have swarovski crystals . However the website they get their lights from had two out of three poor reviews.

Any advice on quality ?

Also so I searched and there are so many websites that are selling chandeliers for so much less ... again can’t see in person. Anyone has experience with those ?

RH chandeliers are not exclusive. If you look hard enough you can find them. For example, their linear lantern is actually the Darlana by Visual Comfort.

I tried posting pics in my original post but those didn’t go so I will try again.

As much as I fell in love with their chandelier I am reconsidering now. I emailed them to ask where the crystals are sourced and she wrote :

“We are not provided where the artisan sources the crystals and they are not swarovski. “

Also mostly all the reviews I read were sooo negative .. also hearing from Jan reinforces that.

I ll try to look for something similar at crystorama then, Maria Theresa etc. the lady at light brothers local shop also showed me another catalogue allegricrystal but that’s higher end and out of my budget range.

The issue with 29 inches is that my room is 18.5 x 19 but ceiling is 9 feet so the formula says it should be 36 -38 inches wide but those are too tall for the ceiling , so the one at RH was a nice compromise. 33 inches and looked perfect on 9 feet ceiling at their display bed room .

If I go with 29 inches I don’t want it to look too small for the room.

I also found Italian concepts usa, and a few other online. I will try to look and see. However I have noticed that chandeliers can look v different on the computer than in person.

Agree with Jan. Our RH bedding products have been great, especially the Italian silk coverlets, still look like new 10 years later. My 4 RH light fixtures not so much.. the quality of their lighting products lack in many ways.

    Hi lavender12145,

We're curious to know what your concern is with respect to the source of the crystals. Crystals are essentially rocks, be it those dug out of the ground or synthetically made.

The majority of the crystals, rocks and/or semi-precious stones that you find in the jewelry section of your local department store or mom and pop's shop are synthetically made--meaning, they are made in a lab using modern technology. There's really only a handful of companies that have access to natural diamonds that are used in jewelry, home decor and/or light fixtures but ordinary crystals and/or semi-precious stones? These can be found in just about any place where there are mountains and hills.

The density or hardness of natural crystals and synthetic one's are negligible. The refractory qualities can be re-produced in the lab to near perfection (if not, exactly) as those of a naturally-produced, 'dug out of the ground' crystal.

Neat Fact: Natural crystals are not naturally & uniformly clear. It usually has a frosted or hazy look to it like someone spilled sugar inside and it froze into place. If it's clear, as in, uniformly clear from edge to edge, it's been genetically modified in a lab or it's purely synthetic. (Or it's a different type of rock made to mimic or look like a crystal).

Or you can go with a quality chandelier like the one's that our sister brand Luxe Light and Home makes and are sold exclusively through the Kravet showrooms:

    Portia Chandelier

    Pirelli Chandelier

    Lucia Chandelier

Many of the Kravet showrooms carry the Luxe fixtures so we strongly encourage you to visit one near you so you can see the quality and workmanship yourself.

We hope this information will help you make a more informed decision on your home needs.

    Very Best,

Thank you very much for your detailed reply. i do agree with you as I also have been doing some research on the subject. so in conclusion I m not aiming for the high end austrian alps crystals . I am

looking for within reach crystals and I have seen many Which I like for use in my house and they are sourced from China and I m perfectly ok with that.

My electricians are actually here doing can work in rooms and I did order Maria Theresa 15 light 32 inch wide chandelier which looks amazing in photos . i have to buy for living and dining , as well . Wondering if i have to pick the same style for all the rooms or they can be totally different too like modern , ( since now my bedroom will have traditional and family has two traditional candle chandeliers too)

I loved the crystal chandelier so much but Couldnt help decide if I should use it in the bedroom, living or dining .

I picked it for the bedroom for

now , however I may change my mind once it arrives and order another one to put 2 of those in living
