Need help with office please

I am in need of help with decorating a wall in my office. It is located right off the foyer, so it has to be pretty:) please let me know your opinion regarding the Italian map for the space. Love it or hate it? I want to do a collage of maps combined with photos of countries I have been too. I also bought several cigar felt flags to frame. Thoughts please!

Hi Nancy, I love the idea of the map with other maps and pictures of the areas you have traveled too. "Art" with personal stories are the best. They also make for great conversation. I would change the desk chair to something more decorative. Can you please send a few other shots of the room for some more suggestions? Is the wall covering new?

Great start Nancy! I would change the wall color! Maybe pull out the pale blue, if not a white, in the adjacent wallpaper (which, i LOVE by the way). That will allow for your idea of eclectic art make more of a statement - a dark wall with lots of rectangles will look too heavy. Just my late night thought :) Good night!!

You could frame a large map of the world and superimpose framed pictures of the countries you have visited on it as in the inspiration pic submitted for idea only

If you love the wall colour keep it, but make sure you use white frames with white matting so that creates the contrast against the wall and also makes the pictures pop. That single picture would look rather strange on the wall but with the collection it should look fantastic and it will be personal to you which is really the basis of a home.

I live Anne"s recommendations. It might be neat to do maps in all one tone like sepia and then add your personal pics in color. You could use frames in one color also, to tie the grouping together.

Personally, I like the frame color with that map on your gray wall. I think it's sharp.

I agree with all on the existing frame colour looks great. The only colour that clashes is the top of the desk. If you keep the dark wall,I would try to find a leather to match and redo the top of the desk with that.

great job with the paper,wall color and lamp. agree with framing all to match the current map.
the honey tones in the desk and rug fight the gray.ballard designs has a pretty desk/table in white with gray. they also have a few rugs that would work well.
OR you could paint your desk white and replace rug with a thick textured white to off-white to dove gray.
