I finally chose a local company, with a local factory, and a rep who came out and measured, discussed options, and offered good design ideas. Price was in the middle, quality was outstanding, as were the installers .

What was the company name?

West coast shutters, St. Petersburg. But, I think they are strictly local. If you're not in Tampa bay, I would try to look for a local company, too.

Hunter Douglas is a great company! If you visit the Hunter Douglas website and look for the find a specialist like in the top right, you can put in your zip code and find a reputable dealer in your area. I would look for a dealer that has the Gallery notation next to it which means they have a showroom where you can actually walk in a see product, talk to a live person, etc.

I understand the head spinning, we went through the same thing. We ended up going with a small local company here in Florida (Mom/Pop) that specializes in window coverings (shutters, blinds, shades, etc), with in house installer. My only experience with any of the companies you mention is Rockwood, I didn’t care for their sales system they have in place - too many middle men and very expensive in comparison. We love our shutters.
