Thank you. Quicksilver is a climbing Kordes rose that has done well here in FL w little to no black spot. I dont spray here due to having farm animals and butterflies, bees, frogs etc.

Bea you might also like the climber Lavender Crush. Walmart sells them in the spring as a bare root in a bag for 8.00 I got one this spring and it has a rich deep clusters of violet purple with a little white on the reverse petals w a really nice fragrance. It has healthy leaves. I bought it on a whim but I love it. I will get a few more next year.

Thanks for the tip. I dont spray at all partially out of laziness and mostly because I just rather not. I do have Neem Oil but havent used it in several yrs. I am not totally organic or anything because I use Miracle Grow fertilizers sometimes etc.

I try to just grow roses that have minimal black spot issues although, I have a few problem children for sentimental reasons. I dont really care if my plants arent perfect. I even leave caterpillars on the brugmansia. I do try to move them to the less favorite/more common plants.

Another plus in my favor, is having sulfur well water which is slightly acidic and helps a lot with black spot. I usually spray off the rose foliage with the hose when I water.

Also keeping the plants healthy in general helps their immune systems fight off diseases.

Nelsons Florida Roses always do well 4 me. They R grafted on Fortuniana and R nematode resistant. Most grafted roses U buy from big box stores R not grafted on Fortuniana.

K&M and Cool Roses are other sources for fortuniana roses. They do mail order. I have several fortuniana grafted roses now and they are much more vigorous and bloom more than the others. Old Garden/Antique roses are another good option for FL and can be grown on their own roots.

Cool Roses also goes to many plant shows and sales through out the state (fall to spring). If you call the in advance they will normally bring the rose to the sale for a local pickup if you don't want it mailed.... I would not recommend mail in the summer, because the plants get TOO hot... but that is just me.

Nelson's Roses sells in some nurseries. I picked up a few David Austin's, Abe Darbys in blue pots this spring. They are grafted on fortuniana. They were only $15 or so, which was cheaper than the DAs ordered on doc huey or own root from the Austin website.

If you see blue pots at home depo, they are also most likely fortuniana grafted.

Miss November Today..we had a bunch of rain the last few days which spoiled the other blooms.

Contrast with a bloom from Miss September which has more oranges and corals. She also has much curlier tendrils.

I need help. I once had many different types of Brugmansia, and then life happened. I was a member of this group over 13 years ago. I often traded with many people. I am looking to find Brugmansia starts, not seeds, but actual plants. Feel free to comment if you could help.
