Depending on the height, it could work as a TV stand. I don't think it will ever give the vibe of "farmhouse" as it's used on these boards, even when painted. It's more 80s-country.

If you already own it, give it a try. Its probably a quart of paint, sanding, time. And wax finishing. Distress it a bit with some sanding. Maybe replace the glass in the door with wirecloth painted black.

I would sand it all down, paint the bottom parts white, distress with fine grit, stain top early American, replace hardware with simple black matte knobs

Go for it. Mine was way ugly and not farmish at all.
