They're looking good.... but where are all the leaves? With that trunk size, I expected 10+ leaves easily.

Thanks Dave. Nice DC! It started out with 9+ leaves this spring but bad weather as adjusting to outside burned them off. It now looks like the leaves are getting shorter on the manzano, but I could be wrong. I'll know by early August.

Pisang Ceylon

My Pisang Ceylon is surviving outside in the ground in zone 10 in Southern California.

I've also been growing some species bananas like Musa thomsonii which should have no problem surviving zone 9.

Christine, That Zabrina looks great! It looks crammed in a small pot but soo healthy and pretty.

I'll consider growing multiple bananas in the same container with some of my smaller pots.

I hear you on the sunburn Matt... Had that problem with a couple of the smaller bananas... they rebounded nicely like yours.... which have massive leaves.

Socalnolympia, Your PC hasn't fruited yet? Haven't you had that plant for a few years now? Thanks for the update!

Christine, if you want a big decent plant I would re plant it to a much larger container. Keeping only 2 pups in that pot. Re plant the rest.

Yeah, unfortunately it has not fruited yet. It's not a dwarf variety, so maybe that shouldn't be surprising.

It looks like it should be able to fruit soon though, maybe next year.

The plant looks exactly the same as your Pisang Ceylon, so that makes me hopeful it is the right variety. (Bigger than yours though, with three stalks)

This one hasn't even been fertilized this year. Canadian grown.
