Does this item include headboard, upholstered frame and slats?

The description says it should be paired with the frame. What exactly is meant by that? I see the upholstered side and foot rails. If included is there also a "frame with slats" to be inserted inside for additional cost? How many slats are there, how wide is each one, and how far apart? What is the "frame" made of and where is it sold?
