Keep in mind that there should be a gap around the edges of each room. Like I said, those edges could be straighter, but as long as molding will cover those uneven gaps it doesn't matter. I'd pay closer attention to the visible parts of each room, especially where rooms come together and flooring continues around corners.

IDK - the one gap coming around the corner looks a bit large to me. I’ve had my whole house retrimmed with fatter moldings and baseboard, and had a lot of flooring and painting done, and nothing looked quite that sloppy even before shoe and vents etc were put back on. My very amateur husband did some of the work and even his stuff looked better than that.

If you look in the corner in the fireplace pic, there is a big gap in the shoe in the corner. That could have been done better. A good trim carpenter would break out in hives looking at that.

The only part that looks bad to me is ear the fireplace hearth. That is a huge gap and could have been done tighter,but it should be fine once the T-Molding is installed.

It is a good install overall though, especially since you have it installed on an angle which is a much more difficult job.

My husband and I laid vinyl plank and I cringed when his cuts weren’t straight. All of the areas will be covered with baseboard but still, I understand your concerns.

The only part that would really concern me is in front of the fireplace, as the right area is a pretty big gap. Will the floor in that area be susceptible to damage because of the small amount of overlap of the molding? It is worth bringing up to the installers.

Have them Rotozip that flooring away from the plinth block in the 5th picture a 1/4" or so, please. Looks fine otherwise.

Yes, in her last picture also there is only about 1/16" expansion gap along that section as well. Might ask them to trim it there a bit as well. You don't want any buckling. Nice color with your tile hearth. Should look very pretty when your shoes are back on.

And of course a diagonal install always makes for more effort. But I'm not very impressed with the cuts....hopefully the trim is fairly substantial.

Look for any gaps after the trim work is done and relax until then.
