I probably am of no help b/c I don't have model numbers handy. All I can tell you is that I have 2 Mitsubishi units and they are both whisper quiet.

I remember reading in their owners manual that crackling noises are considered normal. I only use them for cooling, not heating - but they make almost no noise in any of my cooling operations. They beep when I first turn them on, the fan runs on high for a brief bit, and then they settle into virtually silent operation. I really am very happy with them.

Thanks @patriceny. Would you mind trying the heat mode just once, for maybe about 1 minute, and reporting back whether there was any noise?

Ours is new and it wakes me up all night. We have only used it for cooling. It pops and cracks so loud that it’s miserable. Any help resolving the issue would greatly be appreciated! We have a Fujitsu Halcyon.

I have two Mr. Cool units and they both make that same noise on both cooling and heating functions.

I just did a little research and looks like : I need to replace a sleeve bearing on the squirrel cage fan under warranty. Hope this helps everyone..

Got two indoor Mitsubishi MSZ-HR25VF hooked to a multi split. Brand new. They both make popping noises when cooling. Especially soon after turned on and working stronger. Very annoying. Seems to be the plastic. I am trying to get the people who installed it to try to fix it. After that, I may try on warranty.
