Garage storage rack installation

Question about Garage storage rack installation, I have bought SafeRacks 8’ x 4’ from Costco. Most of the installation I have seen online are like the one on left side, any issue if I install like right side? What is the difference ? Left side has ceiling brackets along with the longer length(8’), but right side has ceiling brackets perpendicular to longer length.

Just make sure the brackets are firmly anchored in the ceiling joists on both sides of the hanger attach point.

The rafters are going to go one way or the other. In one direction your mounting brackets will presumably be parallel and right under a rafter, so every screw will go into that rafter. If you mount perpendicular to the rafters, you will have to attach to several of them. And you will have to make sure the holes in the mounting brackets line up with your rafters so you hit them every time.

Do you know which way the rafters go, and how far apart the predrilled holes are in the brackets?
