looking for cabinets with doors in 1840 home

I am looking for customizable cabinets with doors from floor to ceiling that we can configure and build. Something like the Pax at IKEA but unfortunately the sizes do not work. It is a u shaped are with lighting causing the sides of the u to be narrower that the bottom of the U. I have not found an on line company that i can give the dimensions and configuration for my needs costing less than actually having them custom made. I wonder if anyone knows of a company that might have multi sizes, corner cabinets with pieces we could make fit into our U dimensions at 88 to 91 tall (we can put a crown molding to make it look more built in and this height range optimizes storage space). Or preferably a company that would take an order and send it to us to build into place? Thank you for your thoughts.

A local custom cabinet maker is exactly what the home demands. Respect her, and only put in quality things appropriate to her. Do NOT engage in a cringeworthy remuddle that ruins her bones. She deserves far better than that. You have a responsibility as her stewards to keep originality and quality firstmost in any decision.

Have you spoken to local cabinet makers? Built-to-order doesn't have to be all that expensive. Also, unless you have some skill and experience, hire an installer. The best cabinets in the world won't hide an amateur installation job.

Since you live in an area with historic homes, there must be a few woodworkers who specialize in period doors. They have the knowledge, the tools and probably have samples for you to check out in their showroom or workshop. Support your local craftsmen and women. Get references from friends with old homes or the local historical society. I would definitely keep within the original style of your home. To do anything less would be a mistake.
