...or maybe a Sempervivum?

Thank you :) I just bought it today and hope to repot it since it’s also awfully crowded.

Not sempervivum. They have different growth pattern, and also cilia on margins. Mature plants could be as crowded, but usually, there are many chicks that are smaller. IMO, Echeveria. It looks like it has been deprived of light recently - center of each rosette (newest growth) seems to be too light. But maybe it is the photo. In either case, make sure you acclimatize it to better sunlight.

Repot into bigger pot or separate - and post pics again in a while to see if the color changes. Blooms would also help to ID.

The are somewhat similar...many ppl refer to echeverias as hens&chicks and vice versa. I am not absolutely sure about it being echie either. Reminds me bit of E. Black Prince - but color is totally wrong. Even if light-starved.

(Something funny is going on with posts - I posted after you, yet my post shows 1st).

Than you Rina. Yes very wierd. Is Houzz at it again? Seems like the order is changing with most current now being on top. Thought I was losing it for a second...

Ok so not that last one. Not sure what’s going on.

No I think the order is definitely different with newest post being at the top of the thread.

That Sucs, sorry for hijacking your post.

No problem ;)))

Ok not sure what the heck is going on but, for this post anyway, for me, viewed in Houzz and the most current post is at the top but viewed on Gardenweb and it’s the regular order with the most current post appearing at the bottom.

I just checked other threads - everything seems to be scrambled...what is houzz doing now...
