Melon question - no webbing

Hi all,

I’m growing Sarah’s choice melons and am wondering why they have no webbing on them. I’m Guessing it has something to do with my growing conditions (marginal sun for melons) but I’m new to melons so unsure if webbing still might develop. Thanks!

Looks normal. Webbing develops as melon matures.

Sarah's Choice has very light netting without ribs

I agree with Farmerdill (as always!). Sarah's Choice is the only cantaloupe I've ever grown. Judging by the size you should start to see webbing in the next week or so. Then a week or so later the raccoons and posums will eat it a few days before it is fully ripe IME. You also might want to put something under it to protect it from rotting which can happen if sitting directly on the soil. I use 4" ceramic tiles.
